Marathon High Efficiency Water Heaters
Efficient Electric Water Heaters
New Incentives and Rebates for 2010
- Rebates for Marathon water heaters are applied instantly to the retail cost when purchased from Butler County REC or approved local contractors. See the chart below for cost information.
- Rebates for non-Marathon water heaters must be 50 gallons or larger with energy factors of .90 or greater. $200 per model with a lifetime warranty and $100 per model with no lifetime warranty.
- Incentives are offered for only tank-type water heaters.
- Water heaters must be installed in homes and businesses served by Butler County REC.
- Additional $100 off when replacing a gas water heater with an 85 gallon or larger Marathon water heater.
- $100 discount on an 85 gallon or larger Marathon water heater for a new home.
- 24-month, NO-interest loans to purchase units. Co-op member must be in good standing and own the property where the Marathon is installed.

To comply with safety regulations, the thermostat(s) in Marathon water heaters come from the factory set at 120 degrees. Water temperatures above 125 degrees can cause severe burns from scalding.
